Costume Party 2009

Carac's school held their annual Costume Party on Saturday. Carac was very excited to be going. For us this is the best way to get him dressed up and out of the house. Trick or treating really has no appeal to Carac because he doesn't like chocolate and eats very little candy. Well, I take that back, he'll eat large amounts of very specific candy, but the selection is very limited.

We have been averaging 2 years per Halloween costume. Carac was Tigger for 2 years running, and this is the 2nd year he has been Buzz Lightyear thanks to Grandma Wanda who got him this costume. There are actually some wings and a purple hat/helmet that go with the costume, but Carac was happy to wear just what you see him in here. Once we got to the party we realized it was probably a good thing to not have the wings. He spent so much time running around he either would have constantly been hitting people or they would have been falling off. I have a feeling it would have hindered the fun that he was having with all his friends from school.

I have to give kudos to my husband for being a wonderful Dad and patient husband. His wife volunteered to work a booth. They setup a folding screen and draped some fabric over it so the kids couldn't peek. Ben sat behind the screen while I helped them fish. They were trying to reel in the monster. So Ben would put candy in the basket once it came over and then he would growl and shake the screen. It scared some of the kids, and others who had attended before knew what was up. We had a couple requests for a laughing monster for some of the really little kids. Overall it was a great time for us, and again thank you to Ben!! I love you and promise not to volunteer for that booth next year!
