Today was Carac's first day back to school after a few weeks away for vacation and time with family. I was a little worried because Ben is gone this week and I'm not a morning person. Plus, with just coming back from vacation I was worried about getting him back on a schedule, but hopefully by Monday we should be good.
Carac was excited about heading back to school. He was especially excited because we had spent the day before at the zoo with 4 of his friends from school the day before. A blog with pictures will follow.
Going to bed Tuesday was not as easy as I thought it would be. We had a discussion about what he wanted for breakfast, then what he wanted me to pack for his first "cold lunch" of the year. The hardest part of the conversation was Carac asking who all was coming back to Ms. Beth's class. After the day we had, I was at a loss. Trying to remember my name was difficult, let alone the names of 20 other kids. I was able to recall about 6 and that was enough. He finally fell asleep.
He woke up in a pretty good mood. After french toast sticks, syrup and orange juice (breakfast of champions,) he was ready to go. I had him all prepared for a nap, and much to my surprise there was no spot for Carac to nap. Apparently it was decided for us that he would not be napping any longer. I'm not necessarily opposed to the idea, as most days he doesn't nap. However, it would have been nice to be prepared.
Overall it appeared to be a great day. Carac came home with a sweaty head from playing on the playground with all of his friends. Plus, he hasn't told me he doesn't want to go back, so I figure that is an added bonus!
Totally feel the same way about the nap situation...I drop off his pillow and blanket, he is excited about being in there with his brother, and then I find out he is not going to be a napper. I basically told Ms. Diana and Ms. Beth that they needed to talk to Connor since they didn't prepare me. After school, he kept asking us to sign him up as a napper again.
