This is the view as we were crossing the bridge to get from Savannah to South Carolina, and then ultimately Hilton Head Island. The drive was pretty short considering the miles we had already driven.

On Wednesday morning I woke up early, got a workout in and then ventured to the beach alone. I really think I could have stayed there forever just listening to the waves. The sand was warm and the breeze just made it a perfect morning for a quick stroll.
Carac didn't like the ocean water, so we swam in the hotel pool for a little bit before we had to check out. About noon we headed to the end of the island to visit The Salty Dog Cafe. I'm sure you've all seen the shirts, and I fell victim to the hype. Carac and I got matching red shirts and he was pretty excited about it. We haven't worn them yet, but you better believe the day is coming!

We sat outside on the deck of the restaurant, and is customary for restaurants in the south they had the "human sprinkler." My husband was a big fan as it was definitely a great way to cool off. Carac didn't like that it got his coloring wet, but he made do because he too appreciated the cooling factor.
Much to our surprise Carac was a big fan of hush puppies. Thinking about it later, it does make sense, but typically Carac doesn't stray far from a diet of

chicken nuggets, ham, pizza and maybe a few other things. Along with the hush puppies he ordered the fish nuggets instead of the chicken. I'm glad he did because we ate his leftovers and they were great. Ben was predictable and had the chicken tenders. I enjoyed their she-crab soup and a chicken salad sandwich. Overall it was not a disappointment and I would return. Maybe just not on such a hot day!

Just thought I would highlight how Carac views his parents. This is a picture he took while we were eating lunch at the Salty Dog. He has become quite the ham, but also enjoys taking pictures and viewing his work after he's done. I think we'll be investing in a new camera and handing down our old one to the photographer in training!
