Carac & Cooper!

In lieu of trick or treating on Saturday, we spent the day visiting our new nephew Cooper and his parents.  Carac really doesn't like the candy anyway, and as you can see from the pictures Carac was happy with our alternate decision!
We got a later start than expected because Carac slept in.  He had a long night Friday night thanks to a 2 hour nap after school, and then a visit from Grandma Wanda and Grandpa Larry.  (Also, Ben's team won, so they are playing in the Sectional Championship game next weekend.)
Carac was pretty good in the car.  It's about a 2.5 hour trip to Cooper's house, and he was just so eager with anticipation.  He even skipped lunch he was so excited, he just wanted to get there.
We walked in the door and Carac made a beeline for the couch to see Cooper.  He was the first one to hold him, and after we got situated, he did really well.  He had fun pointing out all of Cooper's bones on his skeleton.  He was also very surprised at how soft Cooper was.  We spent a lot of time looking at his fingers and soft toes.
Carac had spent a lot of time Friday night asking if Cooper would be able to play catch, or feed himself, or maybe hold a toy, so I was a little apprehensive that Carac might be dissappointed with Cooper's activity.  While Carac did ask why Cooper slept a lot, Carac was just as entertained with the "baby stuff" Cooper did.  Plus to make it even more fun, Ben and Uncle Clay were watching football and there was a play whose last name was Cooper.  Everytime Carac heard it on the TV he got so excited because they were saying the same name as his cousin!
Overall it was a great time.  Carac really did NOT want to leave, and I had to promise a follow-up visit within the next week in order to get him to agree to leave!  (Good thing the trip to Indy was already planned!)

  1. Carac, you look like a pro holding your newest cousin. I'm so glad you got to visit Cooper. Looks like you had fun playing outside too. I hope you have some pictures to share with Grandma Rosie when you come to visit me next week-end. I love and miss you. Tell Brady and Conner I said "hello". Love, hugs and kisses.
