3rd Missing Tooth

So we have a 5 year old that is missing three teeth.  No idea why he's losing them so early, but he is.  The last tooth was the most dramatic of the 3.....at least it was for me anyway.

Ben was out of town and I get a call from Carac's school.  They called to let me know that during the day he had jarred his tooth loose, and that if I needed the dentist to see Carac I should go ahead and call.  The dentist didn't feel it was necessary because the tooth that came loose probably would have been the next to go anyway.

Now for those of you that I have told before, I have had nightmares about losing teeth.  Ridiculous, I know.  But give me vomit over wiggly teeth anyday!!!  I just can't stand the sight of kids moving their teeth around with their tongue, it really just makes my stomach turn.

With Ben out of town, I really was the only option.  When I picked up Carac he told me that he didn't want me to pull the tooth, that Daddy could pull it when we saw him on Saturday.  So for dinner I made the softest things feasible; french fries, apple sauce, and chicken nuggets cut in bite size pieces.  Carac was about 3/4 of the way through the meal when he started freaking out.  He had taken a bite of french fry and managed to bite down right on the tooth.  My first reaction was to run away, but thankfully my "mom" gene kicked in and I was able to get cold water to stop the bleeding.  Then I calmed myself down.

Carac proceeded to proclaim that he was done with dinner.  Plus he then stated he could not go to school because he would be unable to eat cheese pizza.  I called Ben trying to figure out what to do.  I partially agreed with Carac, but I really couldn't stay home with him.  Thankfully Grandma Wanda and Grandpa Larry were able to save the day.

So Friday morning gets here and about 5 minutes after Grandma and Grandpa get there Carac decides to play the wii.  He's jumping around and laughing.  All of sudden it gets quiet.  I look over and Carac is holding his hand out yelling "Mommy look at this."  Silly me, my response is, "Oh did you find a lego you were looking for."  He says "Nope, it's my tooth, I almost swallowed it, but had to spit it out."

God smiled down on me that day, and prevented me from having to go through the pain of pulling out Carac's tooth.  Because it had bled the night before, there was no blood when it actually fell out and I believe it was painless for Carac.  The only downfall is that he's now convinced that every tooth is going to just fall out.....we'll see we've got #4 ready to come out.  Ben would have pulled it 3 days ago, we'll see how long he lets Carac keep living the dream of it falling out!
